How is soap made?

Soap is made by mixing an alkaline substance and oils—when combined, they “saponify” and, after molding and curing, become a salt (soap with glycerin).Typically, sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide is added to the water, and then a lipid mixture is added.For example: soda, water, coconut oil, olive oil. Then, fragrances, hydrosols, essential oils or a mixture, as well as colorants, are often added to create a pleasant visual and aromatic effect and/or a therapeutic benefit.Once all the ingredients are mixed and poured into a mold for a few days, the soap is cut and left to "mature."We allow a maturation period of 3 to 6 months, long enough for the water to evaporate, resulting in a harder, longer-lasting soap.If you use the soap too soon or if its quality is poor, it will dissolve faster and your body will feel the difference.

What types of oils/fats/butters are used in your soaps?

We use a wide variety of combinations.We have vegetarian products made with cold-pressed olive and argan oils, coconut oil, shea butter, castor oil, and avocado. We have chosen not to use palm oil; this is a personal preference.Our eczema, psoriasis, and pain management products are made with animal-derived raw materials, the most common being responsibly sourced bear tallow or fat, honey, and beeswax from our hive.

Do you make 100% olive oil soap?

No. Our version of Castile soap has been improved; it contains a blend of lipids and additives that make it luxurious and soft with an excellent texture that produces a lot of lather.100% olive oil soap, also called Castile (Marseille) soap, follows the same process as cold process soap, but without the use of oils. It contains only lye, water, and olive oil. There are no additives or beautiful colors. It generally takes 9 to 12 months for real Castile soap to mature.The lather is dense, creamy, and nourishing, if a little slippery and slick… but if you're a fan of big bubbles (which isn't necessary), a Castile soap recipe will be a bit disappointing.It is very gentle, ideal for babies and pets. It is particularly suitable for sensitive skin.

The lifespan depends on usage and quality and how many people in your house use it?On average, a bar of soap can last about 6 weeks to 2 months. Store it in a well-drained soap dish to prolong its life. You can also use a small soap bag to collect all the small pieces of used soap.
